Walmart Spark Mileage Tracker: How to Track Miles for Spark Delivery

Spark delivery can involve pickups, drop-offs, repositioning and waiting between offers. A repeatable mileage routine helps keep the driving connected to the work that produced it.

When delivery work moves across stores, customer stops and different parts of town, it can be difficult to reconstruct the day later. The simplest approach is to make mileage tracking part of the same routine you use to begin and end delivery work.

A simple Spark-driver mileage routine

Start your work record

Before the work session gets busy, confirm the vehicle you are using and begin your mileage record. Starting consistently reduces the chance that the first part of a shift is forgotten.

Keep the record running with the work session

Preserve the date and business context along with the mileage. If you record expenses, receipts or notes, keeping them near the same work history can make later review easier.

Review when you finish

End the mileage session when your work session ends and check the result while the day is still fresh.

What mileage records should you keep?

The IRS tells gig workers to keep records and receipts during the year, and its recordkeeping guidance explains that good records can help identify deductible expenses and support items reported on a tax return. Your system should fit your business and preserve adequate information for your circumstances.

Remember the 2026 midyear mileage-rate change

For eligible business use, the IRS rate is 72.5 cents per mile from January 1 through June 30, 2026 and 76 cents per mile from July 1 through December 31, 2026. Keeping dated work sessions can make that split easier to review.

Tax note: Not every mile driven during the day is automatically deductible business mileage. Tax treatment depends on the facts and applicable rules. Check IRS guidance or a qualified tax professional for your circumstances.

Using more than one delivery app?

If Spark is only one part of your workday, a single independent mileage record can help keep the driving history together across the shift. That can be easier to review than depending on separate records from each platform.
